So I had a thrilling drive this afternoon, going from Arvada to Superior. When I started out, it was just starting to snow - the flakes were so small that A debated with me if it was actually snow or not - her vote...not. I dropped her at gymnastics and headed out. As I got closer and closer, it was harder to tell where I was. It was practically a white out by the time I got to Superior. And I had to drive on roads that I'm not familiar with and that honestly were not designed with the best intentions, nor maintained by the best of crews.
I was driving to Superior to pick up the last copy of Wii Mario Kart at a store 10 miles away. Why? Well, we already have it - in fact, I received it for my birthday, back in April. This copy though, was for our niece J. She has received a Wii for Christmas, though I don't know why she has it already, but that was her mother's choice. So we wanted to get her a copy so that we could race each other (and kick her butt!).
The whole time I was driving, I was having a conversation with J (in my head), thinking about how she was safe and warm (literally) in Phoenix, while I was driving in some of the worst conditions, to get her this game. I had to brush the snow off my car before I even started heading back to Arvada, and while I was tempted to run into the nearby Target since I was childless at the time, I knew better and got myself back to gymnastics. Round trip time was 45 minutes on a normal 25 minute drive.
She better appreciate this!
Oh, and it's still snowing...
